The poignant story of Carrie Watts, who dreams of returning to her small hometown of Bountiful, Texas. She is sure that if she can return to her old home in Bountiful, she is sure to regain her strength, dignity and peace of mind. So she decides to run away from the cramped Houston apartment where she lives with her son & daughter-in-law. When she reaches a bus station, she falls into the hands of a sheriff whom her son and daughter-in-law have put on her trail.

The local sheriff, moved by her yearning to visit her girlhood home, offers to drive her out to what remains of Bountiful. Only too soon she learns that the friends of her youth have died or scattered, and her home is no longer the spacious mansion of her memories. When her son and daughter-in-law appear on the scene to take her back to Houston, she consents to return, secure in the knowledge that her existence will be enriched as a result of her last contact with Bountiful.

Meeting a variety of people along the way, her journey becomes an ultimately life-affirming and inspiring tale that examines the fragility of memory and celebrates the enduring power of hope and faith.

Jonathan has toured the country as Frank Sinatra in the “The Rat Pack in Back” and he is a regular Headliner in the Bay Area’s top nightclubs, including Yoshi’s and Feinstein’s in S.F.  He also wrote and starred in the critically acclaimed shows, “A Swingin’ Night at the Sands,” a big-band tribute to the musical icons of 1960s Las Vegas, and “Vegas in the Valley,” his salute to lounges of 1960s Vegas..

Blending the swinging vocal stylings of Sinatra, Torme, Bennett and Darin, Jonathan is equally comfortable performing with a trio or a 17-piece big band, putting his own unique stamp on every song he sings and every story he tells through the great American standard songbook

Some say he was born with a microphone in his hand.  That would explain why Pacific Coast Jazz artist Jonathan Poretz is so comfortable performing his brand of great American jazz standards to audiences large and small. Whether appearing in an intimate club or a large outdoor venue, Jonathan brings an electric energy to any stage he’s on, a talent he’s been cultivating since his early teens, when he sang professionally in bands that featured jazz greats including Charlie Shavers, Chuck Wayne and Joe Puma in his home town of New York City.

He is also a regular vocalist with the Harold Jones Boss Men big band, led by legendary drummer Harold Jones, the beat behind Count Basie in the ‘70s and Sarah Vaughan in the ‘80s, and currently on tour with Tony Bennett.

Recording artist Nicolas Bearde’s dynamic show traces the life and music of the legendary, Grammy-winning vocalist, Lou Rawls.  In his own inimitable style, Nicolas conjures up Lou’s spirit in song, from the early blues and jazz years to the hugely popular R&B hits that helped make Lou Rawls world-famous.  Renowned for his silky-smooth, soulful vocals, and his engaging, humorous monologues about life on the street, Lou was the quintessential musical storyteller. With a heart as big as his voice, evidenced through his work with the United Negro College Fund and his famous annual “Parade of Stars”, Lou was truly a man of the people.  His timeless music now comes alive in Bearde’s vivid and affectionate tribute with some of Lou’s greatest hits, including…Tobacco Road, Natural Man, Lady Love, You’ll Never Find Another Love Like Mine and I’d Rather Drink Muddy Water.

Nicolas Bearde Bio
Internationally renowned vocalist, Nicolas Bearde, is a singer of remarkable depth, range and technique who has won acclaim from critics and audiences worldwide for his ‘buttery baritone’ and deeply imaginative interpretations. A seasoned and highly respected showman on stage, Bearde’s brilliant and lush vocals combine passion, wit and sensuality, with an engaging rapport that captures and draws the audience into his performance.  Forged from his Nashville, (TN) roots and his 1980’s initiation into the thriving San Francisco music scene, Nicolas’ unique approach and electrifying delivery of his time-tested standards, R&B, blues and other familiar jazz works, are soulful, swinging, improvisational and memorable!!

After finding a lost treasure belonging to the former occupant of her apartment, she decides to return it to him. After seeing his reaction and his new found perspective – she decides to devote her life to the people around her. Such as, her father who is obsessed with his garden-gnome, a failed writer, a hypochondriac, a man who stalks his ex girlfriends, the “ghost”, a suppressed young soul, the love of her life and a man whose bones are as brittle as glass.
