Topic: Massage Parlor Ordinances
The Chamber will be hosting a Special Government Affairs meeting on
June 26 from 8am -9am.
Presenters:
Mark Dixon – Chairman of the California Massage Therapy Council
Beverly May (Director of Governmental Affairs and Special Projects of the California Massage Therapy Council).
Mark and Beverly will discuss how to identify the unscrupulous parlors, set up a process to keep them out of our community, and how to prevent them from reopening another shop under a different name. The ordinance will help prevent human trafficking and sexual exploitation of Antioch’s most vulnerable residents.
Councilwoman Monica Wilson, City Manager Ron Bernal, and Chief of Police T Brooks will be in attendance to provide insight and commentary while also answering questions.
