Description: Hazel Atlas Mine
Free self-guided tours will let you explore nearly 1,000 feet of cool underground workings in this restored 1930s-era silica sand mine. This is the last mine open house for the season. Participants must be age seven or older. For Info: (510) 544-2750; 7+yrs; Parking fee: $5.00

Black Diamond is located in Contra Costa County, south of Pittsburg and Antioch. Take Highway 4 to the Somersville Road exit in Antioch, then drive south (toward the hills) on Somersville Road to the Preserve entrance.
